Camps
Children in grades 3-6 are offered the
opportunity to attend school camp. Two camps are held each year. One
for children in grades 3 and 4, and a separate camp for students in
grades 5 & 6.
The location of the camp is different each year to maximise children's experiences. The purpose of camps at Wales Street is to:-
Enhance classroom programs and units of work by providing meaningful experiences that cannot normally be provided utilising school resources
Provide opportunities to motivate children and for them to acquire specific activity related skills
Provide children with an opportunity to learn about themselves and to have fun in a safe and secure environment
Develop in children an appreciation of their natural environment
Provide children with the opportunity to learn about living with others and to develop their interpersonal skills
Provide children with an opportunity to develop independence and skills and experience in being away from home and school.
