Great ideas Grants

Got a great idea for our school? The Great Ideas Grants have been created to help make those great ideas a reality for our kids and our school.

Each year, $10,000 of Wales Street’s fundraising money is committed to the Great Ideas Grants program. The program gives all students, families and staff the opportunity to submit their ‘Great Ideas’ for consideration by School Council and to apply for a grant of up to $1,500.

How it works

Two grant rounds occur each year – in Term One and Term Three. The School Council aims to allocate approximately half of the total grant funds available in each round. A message is sent to the whole school community indicating when applications for each round are open.

Any funds received are to be spent within the year they are granted, although exceptions are sometimes made where the project extends beyond the year. Any unspent funds are to be returned to the pool of funds for reallocation through the Great Ideas Grant program.

How to apply

  1. Simply download and complete the Great Ideas Grant Application Form, and submit it according to the instructions on the form.
  2. Submit your completed application to: wales.street.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au

Submission deadlines

Timeline for Term One Applications:
Monday 10th February – applications open
Friday 6th March – applications close
March – Selection Panel reviews applications and makes recommendations to School Council
Thursday 26th March – applicants advised of outcomes
