BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE
We provide our own, fully accredited, out of school hours program for Wales Street students – covering before and after school care, pupil-free days and early finish days.
LEAPKIDS HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Leapkids holiday programs are provided by an external, private operator. The program runs throughout the school holidays and is open to all primary school aged children (including non-Wales Street children). The Leapkids Wales Street program is run onsite at Wales Street Primary School. Please direct all holiday program enquiries to Leapkids directly.

Supporting resilience, confidence and independence
STUDENT WELFARE
We believe all of our students should feel safe and comfortable in the school setting, and be free to explore and develop their potential. We have a range of mechanisms in place to help support the wellbeing of our students in the school setting.
SCHOOL NURSE
Wales Street Primary School employs a Registered Nurse with nursing experience, from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm Monday to Friday, (covering both recess and lunchtime).
If your child requires medication at school, such as antibiotics, please complete and return the Short Term Medication Form to the School Office, along with the medication required.
LUNCH CLUBS
Lunch clubs provide opportunities for both enrichment and support, especially for students who may struggle with long lunchtime breaks in the yard. No sign-up required, and students are welcome to attend as often and as many clubs as they like. Clubs typically run from 1:25-1:50 daily.
SCHOOL CAMPS
Our camping program is organised for students in grades 4-6. Camp venues are rotated each year so that children can attend a camp each year and still have a different experience.
Day-to-day programs and activities
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
We facilitate access to quality instrumental music lessons through a user-pays system delivered by a number of external providers
SCHOOL SWIMMING
Wales Street offers a swimming program for all grades – from Foundation right through to Grade 6. The program runs for 8 weeks, and while optional, we encourage all children to learn to swim.
KELLY SPORTS
Run each term after school, the Kelly Sports program provides a range of fun and stimulating activities that develop children’s fundamental sporting skills in an environment that encourages children to give sport a go.
CHESS CLUB
Think! Concentrate! Gain Confidence! Have FUN! Chess Club runs all year for all year levels, for rookies and advanced players. Contact Coach Jim Cannon for more information:

FUNDRAISING & SOCIAL EVENTS
Wales Street Events Committee holds several fund raising and social events throughout the year. Not only do they give all of our families at Wales Street an opportunity to come together as a community, they also raise some much-needed funds for our school.
